Passenger amenities of Rangiya Division gets a major lift

Rangiya Division BG I, i.e. the section from New Bongaigaon to Agthori is o­ne of the busiest sections of N.F. Railway dealing with almost 24774 nos of passengers daily and running about 23 goods and 42nos of passenger trains. New Bongaigaon (B class station), Barpeta Road(A class station), Pathsala (D class station), Nalbari (D class station) and Rangiya (A class station) all of which are  prominent stations of the section which deal 14887 nos of passenger daily. All important trains connecting northeast to the rest of India run through this section and the Division plays the pivotal role of catering to the needs of passengers travelling through the section. For convenience of the passengers the Division has taken up a number of steps in the recent past. Some of which are:

1)Electronic real time train information board and o­ne additional UTS window at Rangiya station.

2)A “Coach Guidance System” and o­ne Upper Class waiting room at Nalbari station.

3)One 125 KVA diesel generator set to provide power in the station and circulating area at Nalbari station.

4)One 2nd class waiting hall and renovated circulating area at the Pathsala station.

5)An Upper class air-conditioned waiting room, o­ne 2nd class waiting room, o­ne GPS based analogue clock at Barpeta road station.

6)The circulating area of the Barpeta road station was improved to ensure smooth passage of traffic. Landscaping & Façade of the Station were renovated to promote local heritage & culture. Paintings depicting the local culture have been provided o­n circulating area & station building of the Barpeta Road station.

7)One at a Glance Coach Guidance System was also provided for better comfort of passenger at Barpeta road station.

All the above initiatives were undertaken by the railway aiming towards providing comfort & soothing environment to the passengers undertaking Railway Journey.
