N.F.Railway’s General Manager meets Chief Minister of Manipur

Shri H.K. Jaggi, General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railway, called o­n the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur Shri Okram Ibobi Singh at Imphal o­n 25th December. Shri Jaggi had been o­n a three days visit to Manipur to review and inspect the o­ngoing Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal new rail line project. During the meeting, he apprised the Hon’ble Chief Minister about the progress of the project and confirmed that Jiribam to Dholakhal (12 Km) will be commissioned by 31st March 2016 and Dholakhal to Tupul (72 Km) by 31st March 2017.He has further apprised the CM that construction work has already started between Tupul to Imphal (27 Km).  While Shri Jaggi thanked the Hon’ble Chief Minister for the continuous support rendered by the State Govt. to the Railway for this national project, Shri Singh assured the General Manager of his Government’s continued help and cooperation for smooth progress of the project.

The Chief Minister also requested for further extension of the Rail network in Manipur from Imphal to Senapati and Churachandpur to Shri. Shri H.K. Jaggi, General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railway assured that the matter would be taken up with the Railway Ministry.
