REGULAR TOY TRAIN SERVICE FLAGGED OFF AT DARJEELING

0212201Northeast Frontier Railway today re-started the direct Toy train service between New Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling. The Toy train was flagged off by Shri Purna Bahadur Lepcha, a senior railway employee at the Darjeeling station in presence of Shri Mohd. Jamshed, General Manager, N.F.Railway and other senior officials at about 09-30hrs. Running of the direct Toy train service between New Jalpaiguri – Darjeeling- New Jalpaiguri was suspended w.e.f. 15thJune 2010 due to heavy landslide near Paglajhora area. Although train services was started o­n 12-06-2015 after repairing, it had to be suspended again w.e.f. 15-06-2015 due recurrence of landslide. Thereafter, very strenuous repairing work was undertaken and after successful trial run normal passenger train services was introduced from today. Presently the passenger special train will leave Darjeeling daily at 10-15 hrs. to arrive New Jalpaiguri at 17-45 hrs. While from New Jalpaiguri it will leave at 08-30 hrs. to arrive Darjeeling at 16-00 hrs. The diesel loco hauled passenger train will have 2 First Class and 1 o­ne luggage van.
