General Manager, N.F.Railway hold meeting with Chief Secretary of Meghalaya

 Shri Mohd. Jamshed, General Manager of N.F.Railway met the Chief Secretary of Meghalaya, Shri P.B.O.Warjri yesterday. In the meeting, discussions were held about various issues related to development of railway network within Meghalaya including the progress of Land Acquisition, Survey work, of the o­n going Tetelia – Byrnihat & Byrnihat – Shillong New Line project. While the Chief Secretary requested for examination of feasibility of a railway line along the Meghalaya – Bangladesh border running east-west from south-west Garo Hills to East Jaintia Hills, and for entry into Meghalaya from Badarpur of the recently commissioned Lumding – Silchar BG line, the General Manager, N.F.Railway, apprised him of railway’s continuous efforts for reaching out to Meghalaya by operation of six non-rail head Passenger Reservation System in the state.
