Railway Protection Force rescue children

 The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of N. F. Railway’s Lumding Division has been exhibiting sincere humanitarian approach by rescuing trafficked, helpless, destitute and run away children and women. During the period from 5th March, 2015 to 31st October, 2015, as many as 44 minors (both girls/ boys) have been rescued from various trains / railway stations and premises within Lumding Division and rendered necessary assistance by handing over to their respective parents/legal guardians/local NGOs i.e. Child Protection Centre etc.

Railway Protection Force of N. F. Railway’s Lumding Division has been rendering exceptional service in other field also. During last o­ne year period from November,2014 to October,2015 as many as 989 cases were registered under various section of  Railway Act and 1415 nos persons prosecuted. Contraband items like Gold, Arms, and Explosive etc of value Rs. 2, 99, 74, 042 /- were recovered with the arrest of 22 person and register of 42 cases. 5(five) nos human Traffickers and 15 nos drugging criminals were also arrested and handed over to GRPS. 5 nos theft luggage were detected and handed over to the owners. 32 nos offenders were arrested with the recovery of property value Rs. 2, 58,120/- and 33 cases have been registered under RP (UP) Act during this period.

Moreover RPF helpline 182 (Toll free) is fully operational for safety and security of the travelling public.
