The 63rdAll India Railway (Men’s) Basketball Championship, 2021-22 was inaugurated at Maligaon on 1st January, 2022 by Shri Anshul Gupta, General Manager, N. F. Railway who was the Chief Guest at the event. Officials of NFRWWO, senior railway officers and other distinguished guests were also present during the event.
The tournament was held at NFRSA (N. F. Railway Sports Association) stadium, Maligaon and organised by the NFRSA under guidance from RSPB (Railway Sports Promotion Board), New Delhi. The tournament continued till 7thJanuary, 2022.
The General Manager, N. F. Railway while addressing, welcomed all the participants in the tournament that held in one of the best stadiums of Indian Railways in the beautiful city like Guwahati. In his speech, the General Manager stated that N. F. Railway is working with the objective to create new talent in the field of sports taking various steps so as to bring glory to Indian Railways as well as to the nation.
A total of 248 basketball players representing 21 teams from entire Indian Railways and about 80 officials including referees, selectors, observers, coaches etc. participated in the tournament. Many reputed players who represented the Indian National Basketball (Men’s) team in many tournaments also participated.
