The 66thRailway week (Zonal Level) Awards Ceremony was held at Rang Bhawan in Maligaon on 22nd November, 2021. Shri Anshul Gupta, General Manager, N. F. Railway gave away awards to achievers from various departments of the five divisions and headquarters of N. F. Railway. Altogether 87 Individual Awards, 18 Group Awards, 34 Efficiency Shields were distributed for outstanding performance during last year.
The Railway Week Awards have been instituted to recognize the efforts and endeavour of railway employees in efficient and dedicated discharge of their duties. In his speech, Shri Anshul Gupta, General Manager, N. F. Railway highlighted that N. F. Railway became No. 1 performer among all the zones over Indian Railways till September, 2021. Almost all long distance and intercity expresses could be resumed due to united efforts of all employees although there was hostile environment. The General Manager also stated that so many new lines, double line projects are there in N. F. Railway in various stages of execution. Due to dedicated efforts of employees, train on electric traction now reached Kamakhya. Moreover, N. F. Railway has planned to redevelop more than eight stations as world class stations in which Kamakhya station is one of them. Development works with unique child-friendly facilities in Children Ward in the N. F. Railway Central Hospital has been started and is being planned to start in all divisions very soon, the General Manger stated. He also appreciated the hard work being done by employees in this regard.
The Alipurduar junction station received the Best Kept Station Shield for the year 2020-21. The Divisional Railway Hospital, Lumding won the Best Kept Hospital award. Dibrugarh workshop got the Best Kept Workshop Shield while New Brick Field Railway Colony of Rangiya division won the Best Kept Railway Colony Shield.
Alipurduar division got the shields for Accounts and Commercial departments while Lumding division got it for Mechanical and Signal & Telecommunication departments. Katihar division won shields for Operating, Stores and EnHM (Environment and Housekeeping Management) departments while Rangiya division won it for Safety department. Alipurduar and Rangiya divisions jointly won the Efficiency Shield for Engineering and Personnel departments while Lumding and Alipurduar divisions jointly won Shield for Electrical department. Shield for Security department was jointly won by Tinsukia and Katihar divisions.
The Overall Efficiency Shield for all-round performances during last financial year went jointly to Alipurduar and Katihar Divisions of N. F. Railway.
Apart from these, various departments and workshops that excelled in various fields were given Efficiency Shields. Railway officials involved in activities pertaining to Bharat Scouts & Guides, railway unions/associations and NFRWWO etc. were also honoured for their excellent performance during last year.
