40 persons arrested for pulling Alarm Chain

Railway Protection Force (RPF) of N.F. Railway rescued as many as 17 minor boys and girls from different stations/trains during the week from 1st July to 7th July, 2019 before the children could be lured by anti-social elements. During this period, RPF has successfully arrested 2 criminals who were involved in various types of crimes against railway passengers, 1 person with contraband goods, 1 person involved in touting activities and 40 persons were also arrested for pulling Alarm Chain of passenger trains without any reason.

RPF of Guwahati o­n July 2, 2019 during checking in train No. 14055 DN (Brahmaputra Mail) arrested 1 person with recovery of 7 kgs cannabis valued at Rs. 35 thousand (approx.). In o­ne such case, o­n July 3, 2019, CPDS RPF of Hojai, during routine checking at Hojai Railway station, apprehended 2 persons involved in theft of passenger belongings with recovery of 3 mobile phones stolen from the passengers from their possession. In another incident o­n July 4, 2019, CPDS team of Rangiya and RPF of Barpeta Road while conducting drive against touting activities at Sorbhog booking counter apprehended 1 person with recovery of 4 Railway tickets valued at Rs. 9 thousand and cash Rs. 19.5 thousand.

Later, arrested persons along with recovered articles were handed over to GRP for further course of action.
