Pre- Budget Discussion held at Maligaon

A pre –Budget discussion was held in the Conference Hall of N F Railway, Maligaon today with Members of parliament of N F R jurisdiction. Shri Muhmmad salim, MP,LokSabha, Raiganj, WestBengal, Shri Santosh Kumar,MP,LokSabha,Purnia,Bihar, Shri Naba Sarania, MP,Lok Sabha, Kokrajhar, Assam, Shri Satiuse Khjur,MP,Rajya sabha, Assam, Shri P P Roy, MP,LokSabha, Coochbehar, West Bengal, Shri Pradan Baruah, MP,LokaSabha, Lakhimpur, Assam Shri Vincent H Pala, MP, LokSabha, Shillong, Meghalaya and Shri Kamakhya Prasad Tasha, MP, LokSabha, Jorhat, Assam were present during the discussion. Shri Chahatey Ram, General Manager, N F Railway and other Senior Officers were present from railway side.

         Welcoming the Hon’ble MPs, General Manger, Shri Chahatey Ram requested them to offer their valuable suggestions o­n various crucial issues related to the effective functioning of railways as the most popular mode of transport in Northeast India.

 Accordingly the Hon’ble MPs elaborated o­n their demands for their respective jurisdiction as well as state for over-all socio-economic development of the region and requested General Manager to include those and to submit to the appropriate authority.

 The General Manager assured the MPs that their views and suggestions would be considered with utmost sincerity by the railway and that N F Railway would leave no stone unturned to continue to be a vehicle for the wholesome development of the region. The discussion was meaningful and facts railway a step closure for formulation of inclusive policies which is the cornerstone of good governance.
