11082 Railway Protection Force personnel of Northeast Frontier Railway are doing very commendable work. Recently they recovered many contraband items while performing duties.

On 06.08.2016, IPF/NewTinsukia, Niren Saikia and staff (under Tinsukia Division) detected 08 bundles parcel consignments at parcel office / New Tinsukia. The consignments were booked from Dimapur to New Tinsukia. o­n being suspicious about the consignment it was got checked by the Superintendent of Custom/Tinsukia and foreign made Cigerette (Ruili River Brand) was found inside the consignments. Value of the seized cigarette is Rs 2, 00,000/- (Approx). 

On 08.08.2016, SI/A.James, ASI/A.K.Nath and staff of RPF Post Dimapur (under Lumding Division), while checking at Dimapur Railway Station, recovered o­ne unclaimed bag near the Parcel office of Dimapur Railway Station. o­n checking the bag, four packets Ganja (20kgs) were found. Value of the recovered Ganja is Rs 1, 00,000/-(Approx). Subsequently the same was handed over to SDCPF/Dimapur who registered a case vide No- 03/UCL/NDPS/DMR/16-17 Dated-09.08.2016.

ASI/UK Limbu of RPF along with staff while o­n duty at Lumding detected o­n suspicious person namely Md. Mumma Uddin of Dimapur at Lumding Waiting hall. o­n being checked, Ativan tablets suspected to be used for drugging of passengers were seized from the person and the accused was handed over to GRP/Lumding for taking legal action.

Elsewhere also RPF is doing very good work. o­n 02.08.2016, SI/Ruby and staff of RPF/Kamakhya detected 2 ladies carrying about 150 lts of illicit liquor from train no 55801 worth about Rs. 6,000/-. Both the ladies with recovered liquor have been handed over to Inspector / Excise Pandu Circle for taking legal action.

 On 09.08.2016, SI/A.K.Yadav and staff of RPF Post/Barsoi (under Katihar Division) recovered 36 bottles of wine from o­ne of the coaches of train No-55728 Dn as unclaimed at platform no-1 of Barsoi Railway Station. Subsequently, the recovered property was handed over to OC/GRP/Barsoi. Value of the recovered property is Rs.5, 000/- (Approx).

On 09.08.2016, ASI/P.K.Yadav and staff of Purnea RPF post (under Katihar Division), recovered 10120 packets of Fair and Lovely pouch and 50kgs of betel nut from coach No-12346 of train No-13160 Dn at Forbesganj Railway Station as unclaimed. Value of the recovered property is Rs 16,000/- (approx).

On 10.08.2016, RPF Train Escort party of Rangiya Division namely H/C I.R. Choudhury with party while escorting train No. 15960 Dn (Kamrup Exp), recovered o­ne trolley bag containing two packets Ganja weighing about 21 Kgs  from the coach S/8 of the said train. The recovered Ganja was brought to Rangiya station and subsequently, handed over to the Superintendent of Custom, Rangiya. Value of the recovered Ganja is Rs 1, 05,000/-(Approx).


On 05.08.2016, SI/Hojai, IPR Meena conducted drive against touting activities at PRS/Hojai. o­ne person namely Sunil Kumar whoc is Govt School teacher was arrested with 4 railway ticketas of different destinations and Rs. 3600/- in cash. A case under section 143 of Indian Railway Act was registered with IPF/Chaparmukh.

In another incident, o­n 06.08.2016, owner of Vinayak Travel, 103 Kejriwal Complex, above Suman Hotel, S.J.Road, Athgaon, Shri Vinay joshi aged about 31 yrs was arrested during a drive by CIB. 12 tickets with PNR worth Rs. 22,707/- were recovered which were generated by using different personal IDs. o­ne CPU, o­ne cash memo book, o­ne modem were also seized and a case under section 143 of Railway act has been registered.
