One pair passenger escalators added at Katihar Railway Station; Retiring room renovated with improved facilities inaugurated

In continuation with it’s endeavor to provide better and modern amenities to passengers,the Katihar Railway Station under Northeast Frontier Railway has been provided with o­ne pair more escalators along with renovated retiring rooms with improved facilities o­n 6th November, 2022. Dr. Ahmad Ashfaque Karim, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Shri Dulal Chandra Goswami, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) inaugurated the Escalators and Renovated Retiring Rooms o­n 6th November, 2022. Hon’ble MLC Shri Ashok Kumar Agrawal, the General Manager of N. F. Railway Shri Anshul Gupta and other senior railway officials were present o­n the inauguration programme.

 Newly opened escalators have been installed at Katihar Railway Station towards Model Town side near Platform No. 8. The station has already o­ne pair of escalators available at Platform No. 1 since March, 2021 for the use of passengers.

 To provide better and comfortable accommodation facilities to the rail users, additional retiring rooms have been developed and the existing o­nes were renovated with improved facilities. Earlier, 02 AC rooms, 03 Non-AC rooms and 10 Non-AC dormitory beds were available at Katihar station. Eight AC dormitories have been added in addition to existing dormitories. o­ne existing Non-AC room has been upgraded to AC room while 04 existing Non-AC dormitory beds have been improved with AC cabin facilities.

  Both AC and Non-AC rooms are available in an affordable price. Passengers who want to stay in these accommodation rooms, can easily book through the IRCTC portal or across the retiring room counter available at Katihar station.
