Loading of freight increased in N. F. Railway Registers 17% growth in August, 2022

Northeast Frontier Railway has been continuously registering growth in freight loading. N. F. Railway has loaded 0.950 million tonnes (MT) during the month of August, 2022. This is an increase of 17% in comparison to the corresponding period of the previous year. N. F. Railway has loaded 4.961 MT from April to August of this financial year. This is an increase of 24.1% as compared to corresponding period of the previous year.

During the month of August, 2022, coal loading increased by 122.2% and loading of few other commodities also increased by a good margin in comparison to corresponding period of the previous year. During the month, fertilizer loading increased by 25%, dolomite loading increased by 11.1%, POL loading increased by 7.7% and loading of other commodities increased by 62.5%.

During the current financial year from April to August, coal loading increased by 1282.1%, dolomite loading increased by 13.8% in comparison to corresponding period of the previous year. Cement loading increased by 30.4%, POL loading increased by 13.3%, container loading increased by 25.7% and other commodities increased by 32.1%. It is overall increase of 24.1%.

N. F. Railway is exploring all possible ways to boost the freight loading performance. Freight transportation by rail is safer and quicker than roadways and is the most environment friendly mode available for customers.
