N.F. Railway achieved significant growth in originating freight earnings, Sustained efforts yielded result

   Originating earnings from freight traffic in Northeast Frontier Railway has shown a significant growth during the January to July, 2022 period. During this period, N. F. Railway has earned around Rs.781.23 crore from freight traffic o­n originating basis compared to Rs. 522.85 crore during the corresponding period of last year. This is an increase of about 49.42%.

N. F. Railway has been able to achieve 1238.86% increase in coal, 64.16% in dolomite, 21.26% in POL, 1.64% in cement, 34.97% in fertilizer and 45% in container traffic earnings from January to July, 2022 compared to same period of last year.

        Commodities of 7.072 million tonnes (MT) have been loaded during January to July, 2022, which is an improvement of 34.8% in comparison to last year. Record number of 1305 Crack trains have been operated during this period with an increase of 33.3% over last year and transported commodities in a time-effective way.

 With a view to augment the freight earnings, 48 stations/goods sheds have been opened for handling of goods traffic and 24 goods sheds/terminals have been extended for handling of container traffic.Punctual running of goods trains and improving infrastructure in loading/unloading terminals have resulted in improvement of freight earnings.
