Northeast Frontier Railway celebrated the 73rd Republic Day in a befitting manner. The central program was held at the Maligaon Railway stadium, where Shri Anshul Gupta, General Manager of N. F. Railway unfurled the National Flag in presence of a gathering of railway officials and their family members. The General Manager also inspected march-past by contingents of RPF, Territorial Army, Civil Defence, and Bharat Scouts & Guides. The Republic Day was also celebrated in all the five Divisions of N. F. Railway viz. Tinsukia, Lumding, Rangiya, Alipurduar and Katihar, where the Divisional Railway Managers unfurled the National Flag in presence of Divisional railway officials. This year the celebration was observed by following the instructions issued for containment of COVID – 19.
The General Manager while addressing the gathering congratulated all officers and staff who discharged their duties in the best possible way despite many adverse situations towards achieving the goals for overall development of railway. He also briefed about the performance of N. F. Railway achieved in the last few months.
On the occasion of the Republic Day, Shri Anshul Gupta, General Manager/N. F. Railway inaugurated a new barrack for RPSF personnel near the Kamakhya railway station. The General Manager also inaugurated a Staff Facilitation Centre for serving and retired railway officials at the N. F. Railway Headquarters, Maligaon. This centre will provide help to redress issues related to UMID, HRMS, and similar web or mobile applications being used now for various purposes.
Members of the N.F. Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation distributed Fruits and other essential items amongst admitted patients at the Central Hospital located at Maligaon.
On the occasion of the Republic Day, RPF dog show and flower competition were also held.
