The Alipurduar Division of N.F. Railway has taken up various initiatives during last few months with an aim to provide better passenger amenities to railway users.
To get first hand feedback the on train service, senior officers of the Division travelled in Sleeper class coaches and interacted with passenger. New LED television sets have been installed in the waiting rooms of New Coochbehar and New Alipurduar stations to provide information to passenger. Large format display boards have also been provided at Alipurduar Jn, New Coochbehar and New Alipurduar stations during last few months. POS (Point of Sale) machines have also been provided at more than 20 PRS cum UTS counters of the Division to promote cash less transaction. Provisions of cashless transaction have been introduced at various catering units, Fast Food units and Milk booth stalls during last few months with an aim in reducing the complain of overcharging from passenger. To improve the overall cleanliness aspects, all activities related to cleanliness are being monitored by CCTV in stations like Alipurduar Jn, New Coochbehar and New Alipurduar. More and more stations will be taken up in near future to provide such customer friendly initiatives.
It may be mentioned here that Alipurduar Division has also topped amongst all the five Divisions of N.F. Railway in respect to reply time taken of Tweets. The twitter handle of the Division @drm_apdj has become the most active handle amongst all the five Divisions of N.F. Railway which is helping to address the passenger complaints promptly.
