Vigilance Awareness Week is being celebrated throughout Northeast Frontier Railway from 31st October to 5thNovember, 2016. The theme for this year is “Public participation in promoting integrity and eradicating corruption”.

As part of the awareness week, various programmes were held. The programme include taking of a pledge, organizing interactive sessions, organizing essay competitions & elocution in schools & colleges, organizing various activities in zonal training schools, creating public awareness through banners, posters & Nukkad Nataks etc.

At Maligaon the pledge was administered o­n 31.10.2016 by Shri Chahatey Ram, General Manager to officers and staff. Similarly pledge was administered at various offices of the Divisions, zonal training school and workshops. Posters and banners were displayed at important locations throughout the jurisdiction of Northeast Frontier Railway. A Vigilance bulletin was also released o­n the occasion by the General Manager, N.F.Railway.

An interactive session with senior officers of all departments was held o­n 1stNovember. In the interactive session role, responsibilities, purpose, importance of preventive checks and case studies were discussed and measures for system improvements to check the irregularities were identified and discussed for their implementation. Debate competition was organized o­n 02.11.2016 at Pandu College, Guwahati for creating awareness against corruption o­n the theme of “Public Participation in Promoting Integrity and Eradicating Corruption”. Essay, Art and Slogan competitions were organized o­n 03.11.2016 at Railway Higher Secondary School, Maligaon for creating awareness against corruption o­n the theme of “Public Participation in Promoting Integrity and Eradicating Corruption”. Nukkad Nataks (street play) by railway employees was organized o­n 04.11.2016 for creating awareness against corruption at Guwahati station and Maligaon area of NF Railway. Prizes and merit certificates were awarded for the best three arts, essays and elocutions by the N.F.Railway Vigilance Organisation.
