As a mark of respect to the Father of the Nation Shri Mahatma Gandhi on the auspicious occasion of his 147thbirth anniversary, special cleanliness drives were launched in various stations of N.F.Railway. Various programmes were held at various stations.
At Guwahati station Additional General Manager Shri Ratan Lal administered pledge to officer and staff and asked everybody to work wholeheartedly towards achieving the goal of a clean India by the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. In his speech Shri Ratan lal highlighted the importance of cleanliness for providing better services to passenger. Senior railway officers including Chief Commercial Manager, Chief Medical Director were also present on the occasion. Additional General Manager also inspected various cleanliness parameters of the Guwahati station and asked concerned official to live upto the cleanliness expectation of the passenger.
At Kamakhya station also special drive for “Swacch Bharat” was participated by large numbers of senior officer, staff and members from the “Bharat Scout & Guides”. Pledges were taken to fulfil Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of Clean India.
The “Swacch Bharat Abhiyan” is a massive mass movement that seek to create a Clean India. Cleanliness was very close to Mahatma Gandhi's heart. A clean India is the best tribute we can pay to Bapu when we celebrate his 150th birth anniversary in 2019. Mahatma Gandhi devoted his life so that India attains 'Swarajya'. Now the time has come to devote ourselves towards 'Swachchhata' (cleanliness) of our motherland.
Hundreds of employees from all over N.F.Railway working in Divisions and Workshops took the pledge to devote them to the cause of cleanliness. They also took pledge to devote at least 100 hrs every year for doing “Shramdan” in ones community, office or work place to achieve the objective of clean society and nation. The special drive for “Swacch Bharat” was also observed in all the five Divisions of N.F.Railway. Respective Divisional Railway Manager of the Division administered the pledge to officers and staff for achieving the goal of a clean India.
