NF Railway’s Joint Mock Drill with NDRF

A joint mock drill exercise by NF Railway and NDRF was conducted at Kamakhya Coaching Depot, Guwahati Railway Station and at New Guwahati ART Siding to aware the railway users during the train accident.

At Kamakhya Coaching depot safety aspect of different type of coaches was demonstrated like opening of emergency windows of the coaches, detachment of coaches and detachment of power supply during emergency as well as in accident during rescue operation.

At Guwahati station a live demonstration to NDRF team about Mechanical, Electrical and Signal and Telecommunication equipments available in SPARME was given. Another live demonstration was given o­n treating injured patients in Mini Operation theatre of SPRME. Railway doctor and Nursing staff also demonstrated the Medical equipments available at SPARME and a Mock Drill was conducted for treating patient at Mini Operation Theatre in the train.

At New Guwahati ART siding the mock drill exercise related to operation of 140 ton crane and ART (Accident Relief Train) at the accident side was shown. The rescue operation to the injured passengers was done by NDRF team from the derailed coach.  Four passengers were entrapped inside a coach and those were rescued by NDRF team and sent to Hospital for further treatment during the mock drill.
